About State News AI
Our Vision
For most of the history of journalism, publishers decided what people read. Newspapers, television channels and broadcasters chose which stories reached the public, and readers received what was sent to them.
That relationship has changed. People no longer wait for the news. They find it through search engines, AI assistants, social platforms and recommendation systems, which weigh relevance, location, interest, credibility and timing before deciding what to surface.
State News AI is built for this environment. Rather than pushing the same bulletin to everyone, we structure our journalism so that a story reaches the reader it actually matters to, at the moment it matters. A road repair in Betul, a hearing at a district collectorate, a recruitment notice, a local court order: each of these is significant to a specific set of readers and invisible to everyone else.
Our answer to this is not to write for machines. It is to report carefully, publish transparently, and structure the result well enough that it can be found.
Journalism designed for how news is consumed today: relevant, transparent and built for trust.
Our Mission
State News AI is a digital-first Hindi news platform committed to accurate, timely and trustworthy journalism.
Our mission is to give citizens dependable information on governance, public policy, business, education, employment, technology and social issues, while holding to the editorial standards set out in our Editorial Policy.
We use technology to make verified journalism more discoverable and better structured. We do not use it as a substitute for reporting.
Who We Are
State News AI is published by Seagull Venture Private Limited, an independent company headquartered in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.
Our newsroom brings together a central desk in Bhopal and a district reporting network across Madhya Pradesh. At present the network comprises around 10 appointed correspondents and approximately 100 district and tehsil level contributors, supported by official releases from government departments and content from authorised syndication partners.
We cover:
- Government and public policy
- Madhya Pradesh news
- National affairs
- Business and economy
- Education and employment
- Crime and public safety
- Sports
- Astrology and spiritual
- Social and community issues
Our goal is straightforward: factual, fair and useful journalism that serves readers first.
Editorial Leadership
Mr Gaurav Sharma, Editor in Chief The Editor in Chief oversees newsroom operations, editorial quality, publishing standards and ethical compliance. Final editorial responsibility for all published content rests with the Editor in Chief.
Mr Pallav Mishra, Grievance Officer The Grievance Officer receives and disposes of complaints from readers, subjects of coverage and regulatory authorities, under the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021. The grievance function is kept separate from newsroom leadership so that complaints about editorial decisions are reviewed independently.
Ownership and Funding
State News AI is wholly owned and operated by Seagull Venture Private Limited. The platform is funded through advertising revenue and the resources of the publishing company. It receives no funding from any political party, political fund or foreign entity. Government advertising, where accepted, is received under the applicable government advertising policy and does not confer any influence over editorial decisions.
Editorial Standards
Accuracy. Every story is verified against credible sources before publication. Contested or allegation-based reporting requires confirmation from at least two independent sources.
Fairness. We seek the response of any person or institution against whom an allegation is made, and say so plainly when a response could not be obtained.
Editorial independence. Our newsroom operates independently. Editorial decisions are not influenced by advertisers, sponsors, political groups or external organisations.
Transparency. Stories carry a byline, a publication date and a label indicating whether they are news, opinion, analysis, press release based or sponsored. Sources are cited wherever possible. Anonymous sources are used only after editorial verification.
Corrections. Where an error is identified, we correct the article promptly and mark the correction openly rather than editing silently.
These standards are set out in full in our Editorial Policy.
Ethical Journalism
State News AI follows widely accepted principles of ethical journalism, including:
- Responsible reporting
- Protection of minors and vulnerable persons, in line with the Juvenile Justice Act, 2015 and the POCSO Act, 2012
- Respect for privacy
- Zero tolerance for misinformation
- Clear separation of news, opinion and sponsored content
- Verification before publication
- Editorial accountability, with a named editor and a named grievance officer
How We Work
State News AI runs on the MOJO Network publishing platform. MOJO Network supplies the technology. All editorial decisions and all accountability for what is published rest with State News AI and its publisher.
- District reporting network Reporting comes from named contributors across Madhya Pradesh's districts and tehsils. Every contributor is identity-verified before being given publishing access, works under our published code of conduct, and is barred from soliciting advertising or accepting any consideration in exchange for coverage.
- Mobile-first filing, without a technology barrier Contributors file from their phones using voice-to-text, image and video upload, and language tools that clean up grammar, spelling and structure. The purpose is to remove the technical barrier for a capable reporter in a small town, not to write the story for them. Facts, quotes and media are gathered by the reporter.
- Editorial desk Every filing passes through the desk in Bhopal for verification, legal review of sensitive material and final approval. Nothing publishes automatically.
- Structured publishing Published stories carry structured data (Schema.org), clear bylines, datelines and timestamps, and consistent categorisation, so that readers and platforms alike can identify what a story is, who wrote it and when. Headlines and thumbnails must reflect what is actually in the story.
- Audience understanding We study which stories reach readers and which do not, so that we can commission better local coverage. Analytics inform what we report on. They do not change the facts we report.
- Hyperlocal advertising The platform connects local businesses with readers in their own catchment through geo-targeted advertising, with clear labelling and measurable reporting for the advertiser. Advertising is handled by the commercial team and is walled off from the newsroom.
Compliance and Governance
State News AI is built for regulatory compliance and responsible publishing:
- Compliant with the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, including a published grievance mechanism with defined timelines
- Aligned with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023
- Published editorial governance framework and code of conduct for contributors
- Content moderation for reader comments and user submissions
- Corrections and takedown policy with a maintained internal record
- Adherence to the Press Council of India's Norms of Journalistic Conduct
