By accessing or using the State News AI website, mobile application, platform, or services ("Platform"), you ("User," "Reporter," "Advertiser," or "you") agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Platform. State News AI ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform after modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
2. SERVICE DESCRIPTION
State News AI operates as a hyper-local digital news portal focusing on the state of Madhya Pradesh, India. The Platform provides:
- For Appointed Reporters: Mobile-first, AI-assisted tools (voice-to-text conversion, script formatting, image/video upload capabilities) to draft, enhance, and publish local news from their respective districts, towns, or villages.
- For General Users: A digital interface to read, share (via social media and WhatsApp), and comment on published news.
- For Advertisers: Ad inventory spaces to display commercial advertisements against published content.
3. ELIGIBILITY AND REGISTRATION
3.1 Eligibility Requirements
All Users must be at least 18 years of age, have the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements, and comply with all applicable Indian laws.
3.2 Account Registration
- General Users: Must create an account to post comments or interact with the community.
- Appointed Reporters: Access to publishing and AI tools is strictly restricted to reporters officially verified and appointed by State News AI management.
- You are responsible for maintaining account confidentiality and must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.
4. USER RESPONSIBILITIES AND AI CONDUCT
4.1 Appointed Reporters & AI Usage
Reporters granted access to State News AI's content creation tools agree to the following strict guidelines:
- Factual Integrity: The core facts, reporting, and media must be gathered genuinely by the reporter.
- Acceptable AI Use: AI tools (such as title enhancement, voice-to-text, and script formatting) are provided only to improve structural clarity, grammar, and translation.
- Prohibited AI Use: You are strictly prohibited from using AI to fabricate facts, generate synthetic events, hallucinate data, or alter the fundamental truth of a story.
- Final Approval: The reporter bears ultimate liability for fact-checking and verifying the accuracy of the AI-formatted content before clicking "Publish."
4.2 General User Responsibilities (Commenters)
Users interacting with the portal must not:
- Publish false, misleading, or defamatory comments.
- Engage in hate speech, discriminatory content, or post explicit/violent material.
- Spam, post unauthorized marketing links, or impersonate other entities.
4.3 Advertiser Conduct
Advertisers utilizing our ad inventory must ensure their ads comply with the Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) guidelines and do not promote illegal products, deceptive claims, or malicious software.
5. CONTENT POLICIES
5.1 Ownership and Licensing
- Reporter Content: Reporters retain ownership of their original raw media but grant State News AI a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to host, format, display, distribute, and monetize the published content.
- Third-Party Content: Scraping, copying, or plagiarizing content from other news outlets is strictly prohibited. Reporters must only upload media they have personally captured or have explicit rights to use.
5.2 Content Moderation and DMCA
We reserve the right to review, moderate, and remove any content or comments that violate these Terms, Indian laws, or journalistic ethics without prior notice. We respect intellectual property rights and will swiftly remove infringing material upon receiving valid proof of ownership.
6. PRIVACY AND DATA PROTECTION
We collect and process data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We implement appropriate security measures to protect user data but cannot guarantee absolute security. By using our sharing features (e.g., WhatsApp, Facebook), you acknowledge that data handled by external APIs is subject to the privacy policies of those respective third-party platforms.
7. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
7.1 Disclaimer of Warranties
THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
7.2 Limitation of Damages
IN NO EVENT SHALL STATE NEWS AI BE LIABLE FOR:
- Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
- Errors, typos, or hallucinations generated by AI tools that bypassed reporter verification.
- Any actions, claims, or losses arising from third-party advertisements or external links.
8. INDEMNIFICATION
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless State News AI, its management, and affiliates from any claims, losses, or damages arising from your violation of these Terms, your content, your misuse of the Platform's AI tools, or your violation of applicable laws.
9. TERMINATION
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to our Platform immediately, without prior notice, for any violation of these Terms. If an Appointed Reporter is found publishing fake news or misusing AI tools to fabricate stories, their account and publishing rights will be permanently revoked.
10. DISPUTE RESOLUTION & GOVERNING LAW
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising out of the use of this Platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India.
GRIEVANCE REDRESSAL POLICY
State News AI is committed to providing a transparent, safe, and responsible platform for readers, reporters, and advertisers. This policy outlines the process for addressing complaints relating to content, services, or data usage on our platform, in compliance with the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.

- Review & Investigation: Assessed within 7 working days.
- Resolution: Final action/response provided within 15 working days of receipt.
5. Actions on Valid Complaints
Depending on the severity of the violation, State News AI may remove unlawful content, append correction notices to articles, suspend or terminate reporter/user accounts, or report severe violations to law enforcement authorities. False, malicious, or frivolous complaints may result in the denial of grievance processing.
